A comparison of two hybrid optimization techniques: the Taguchi-BBD-firefly and the Taguchi-regression-firefly methods on the IS 2062-E250 steel plates boring problem

Abstract The expanding proliferation of components for engineering applications requires greater optimisation parameters, which consequently increases the need more efficient boring practices. Taguchi Pareto-Box Behnken design is an effective procedure process parametric IS 2062 E250 steel plates. However, weakness method in its inability to distinguish parameters have effects on needs be further suppressed. Consequently, this study investigates coupling firefly algorithm Taguchi-Pareto-Box processing plates during operation. Linear programmes were developed problem formulation with two variants objective function definition. In first variant, Box optimized and firefly-oriented was addressed attain optimal solutions.
